New Mast Tun A SUCCESS!!

In my last post I showed pic of the newest piece of our brewing family. We have now brewed an IPA and a Brown Ale using the new mash tun and I have to say I am very impressed with the simplicity and functionality of the design. Also, it has to be the cheapest piece of brewing equipment I have ever made! If you are looking for a inexpensive way to switch to all grain brewing, I highly recommend you build one of these!

Next on my list I am going to tackle the half barrel keg modification. I'm already a couple weeks into the research and so far what I have learned is do your research on this before you start cutting. There are a couple of really good YouTube videos that show different ways to do this correctly and safely. A plasma cutter appears to be the easiest method but a grinder or even a Dremel can be used. so far a pretty good link looks to be here www.homebrewing.com/. I'll post pics as soon as I have a finished product.
